Dave grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana in the public school system. As you can tell by this photo, he understood early how to dress for success.

After success in three sports at Decatur Central High School, Dave attended Hanover College to play basketball. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Indiana University in 1976, and began his banking career that same year in Indianapolis.
